Inductive sensors with IO-Link for up to 1000 bar

Contrinex has equipped its inductive, high-pressure sensors with an IO-Link interface in PNP-NO versions. The Extra-Distance and Full-Inox types which are suitable for pneumatic and hydraulic applications including high vacuum operate reliably over virtually unlimited pressure cycles and tolerate continuous pressures of 500 bar, according to the manufacturer. IO-Link now allows access to many useful functions such as signal timing, temperature monitoring and counting of switching cycles. Relevant events such as overtemperature or EMC influences can be logged and reported as warnings. Contrinex claims to have also improved temperature behavior and hysteresis stability.

Extra-Distance sensor types are characterized by IP68 protection and have a particularly robust active surface made of ceramic. They withstand peak pressures of up to 1000 bar and operating temperatures of up to 100 °C. The switching frequencies of the inductive sensors range from 1000 Hz for the M5 size to 500 Hz for the M14 version, with switching distances of 1 to 3 mm. Ceramic disk, ferrite core, coil and electronics with connection cable are permanently gas-tight in a stainless steel housing.

The Full-Inox inductive sensors, available in M12 size, feature a high-density one-piece housing made of chemically inert V4A stainless steel and meet the IP68/IP69K protection requirements. They withstand peak pressures of up to 800 bar and operating temperatures of up to 85 °C. The switching distance is 1.5 mm and the switching frequency reaches 850 Hz.
