15 Sep Frequency analysis without programming
By means of TwinCAT Analytics for data acquisition, storage and analysis, traditional condition monitoring algorithms can now also be used without programming.
The effort involved in calculating, for example, a frequency spectrum for punctual machine inspections, was previously high. TwinCAT Analytics by Beckhoff simplifies such processes by reducing programming to pure configuration tasks: All algorithms for the condition monitoring are in the Analytics Toolbox and can easily be dragged into the interface and configured. A start record then provides the result values at the output of the blocks, which can be displayed graphically and very clearly in the charting tool due to the interaction of TwinCAT Analytics and TwinCAT Scope View.
Thus, the TwinCAT Analytics Service Tool (TE3520) provides the user with an easy-to-use solution and a results display that is easy to interpret. According to Beckhoff, continuous monitoring using the condition monitoring algorithms can be configured equally conveniently in the TwinCAT Analytics Workbench (TE3500) and automatically converted into readable PLC code. This code can then be downloaded to the local machine controller or to a remote device to perform calculations in parallel with the machine application. TwinCAT HMI can be used for visualization and automatic creation of an analysis dashboard.
The condition monitoring libraryfor TwinCAT contains algorithms that enable functions such as magnitude spectrum, envelope, zoom FFT, power cepstrum and various RMS calculations as well as moment coefficients, discrete classification and vibration assessment according to ISO standards. All functions are available as PLC function blocks so that condition monitoring can be integrated directly into the machine control system.
