10 May BELDEN develops HiOS software upgrade
Hirschmann develops HiOS software to meet the functional and performance requirements of modern industrial networks.
HiOS v08.3.00 Introduces L2A Functionality for the BOBCAT
Right from the beginning, the BOBCAT has been available in two hardware versions, designed to support L2S and L2A software. The BOBCAT was launched with L2S software, and this has been upgraded regularly with new L2S features, as well as security patches. With v08.3.00 the BOBCAT now offers L2A functionality, with an emphasis on network security and redundancy. New features include:
- Multi-client authentication
- MAC authentication bypass
- Syslog over TLS
- LDAP
- Subring Manager
HiOS is under constant development, to provide a stream of new value to our customers. Additional exciting functionality is already on the way.
HiOS v08.3.00 Provides IPv6 Management for the OCTOPUS
IPv6 is increasingly demanded in modern industrial networks. This is especially true in transportation, where private networks are commonly connected to public networks. With v08.3.00, the OCTOPUS becomes the first product running HiOS to benefit from IPv6 management. The full range of management protocols are supported, including:
- Dynamic & static addresses
- SSH, Telnet, HTTP/HTTPS web interface
- SNMP, SNMP Trap
- LDAP
- SNTP
- Syslog
- DNS
- DHCP relay agent (IPv6)
- CLI
- IPv6 file transfer remote (SCP, TFTP)
- Traceroute and Ping client
To complete the solution, HiView v3.2 also supports IPv6, so the OCTOPUS switches can be accessed via their IPv6 Link Local addresses straight out of the box, with no additional configuration required.
